On September 8, we will begin a new year of the “narrative lectionary” which focuses on the biblical story, from Creation through the early Christian church. Over a four-year cycle, the texts help us to learn about God’s redemption of his creation throughout history.
This year the theme will be LIVING OUT GOD’S KINGDOM. God’s plan for our world has not changed since the moment of creation. God created a world for people to work side-by-side in a community of love, justice, and peace. As we know, humanity rejected that ideal, but God never gave up on his people. God promised a future leader who would establish God’s kingdom for everyone. This Messiah came in the person of Jesus, who ultimately triumphed over sin and death. After his resurrection, Jesus sent his Holy Spirit and commissioned his followers to spread the good news throughout the world.
We hope you will join us for worship at 9:30 am each Sunday morning.
