On Sunday, August 4, six of our senior high students will set out on a road trip with Lauren Patrus-Betzel for Chiloquin, OR. Here in this town (located about 30 miles north of Klamath Falls), they will work with members from the Klamath Tribes to do home repairs (including roofing, building ramps and porches, painting and other general home repairs). They may also work on churches, community buildings and schools in the community. On “Adventure Wednesday,” they will serve at Collier Memorial State Park, clearing brush to prevent forest fires in the area.
Our students will have their meals at the Chiloquin United Methodist Church, and will be housed at the school gym across the street. Please keep our group in your prayers as they serve and make new friends among the Chiloquin people. We look forward to hearing from them about their experience in worship on Sunday morning, August 11.
