Dear Church Family,
I want to give you an update from our church office, so that you will know what to expect. Some of our staff are able to work remotely, and some of us are very occasionally going into the office to take care of essential tasks. Our church administrator spent time in the office yesterday depositing checks that we have received by mail (thank you so much for your ongoing support during this time!) as well as getting the Highlights mailing printed and to the post office.
Today, I will join with a small team (including Richard Dinwiddie, Toni DiCapua, Leland Morine, Barbara Holmes and Ben Ball) to record the worship service for this coming Sunday. It will be posted on our website (www.FirstPresbyterianChurchSL.org) on Saturday, so you may listen to it at any time. Be sure to click on the “worship bulletin” that is provided, which will give you the words to the hymns so that you may sing along . We will be very mindful at staying at least 6 feet apart while gathering in the sanctuary for this purpose.
My thanks to Lauren, who is reaching out to the congregation in multiple ways, including Facebook posts and reminders, as well as setting up a Zoom Bible study in the near future. Be sure to like our church Facebook page so that you will know what is going on.
If you wish to be in touch with one of us, you may send an email, or you can call the church office (510-483-2772) and leave a message. We can receive those messages remotely, and will be back in touch with you very soon after your call.
It is a difficult time for all of us, but we can hold on to God’s faithfulness to us, no matter what. Our hope is in the Lord! He is our refuge and our strength, especially in times of trouble. Turn to the book of Psalms and you will find many songs of hope, as others before us cried out to the Lord in their time of trouble.
Sending prayers and love to all of you,
