January 11: King Me
Welcome back for the New Year! We will learn about Epiphany and have some fun with checkers. Jesus is God’s gift to us and we can be a gift for Jesus.
January 18: Crazy Slipper Night
Wear or bring your slippers – you’ll have a chance to make some slipper socks. We will have breakfast for dinner and celebrate Dr. Seuss with Fox in Socks! Can anybody say “tongue twister”? Bring your favorite tongue twister to share.
January 25: Not so Angry Birds
You have heard about “Angry Birds” the popular app. We are going to learn how to deal with anger and play some “Not so Angry Birds” games.
February 1: The Year of the Rooster
We will be celebrating the lunar new year with all things Asian, yes, food too. Wear red, the color of good luck in the Chinese culture. We will try our hand at origami to celebrate the Japanese culture.
February 8: Sharing God’s Love
As we get ready for Valentine’s Day we will share God’s love by making cards for some of our special friends. What are some other ways that we share the love of God? Jesus tells us: “And now I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13: 34
February 15: Westminster Woods Night
It is time to start planning for summer camp. Aimee Studer co-director of ministries at Westminster Woods will be joining us. Families are invited to join us after dinner at 6:00 to learn more about the opportunities the Woods provides for an enriching summer experience.
February 23: Dot Night
Wear polka dots and come prepared to connect the dots. Spaghetti and meat balls for dinner, yummy!!
March 1: Ash Wednesday
After dinner we will join the congregation for our traditional Ash Wednesday service. Have the whole family come at 6:30 for a meaningful start to the season of Lent.
March 8: Starry, Starry Night
Tonight we will be celebrating all things space related. We will be learning about some NASA astronauts and their amazing adventures.
March 15: Mary and Martha
Jesus visited Mary and Martha and shared a meal with them (Luke 10: 38-42). We can learn from their example about how to welcome Jesus into our hearts.
March 22: Luau Night
Wear your Hawaiian attire! Tonight we will have a feast, Hawaiian style and enjoy a tropical atmosphere.
March 29: Planting in God’s Garden
Tonight we will be celebrating all the wonderful plants in God’s Garden. Planting seeds will be our craft for the night. Review the parable of the mustard seed (Matthew 13: 31-32). We will be creating some wonderful flowers to take home.
April 5: Bear Hugs
Tonight we will be making special gift bags for some very special bears. These gift bears will be given to some of our special friends during Eastertide.
April 12 and 19: NO WOW – EASTER BREAK
April 26: V.I.V. (Very Important Volunteers) Gala Celebration
Wear your very best for this end of the year celebration. Your whole family is invited to this final meeting for the WOW year.
